Flood relief is still taking shape and trying to respond to the needs that arise. How can you help?
Monetary donation through the church marked flood relief would be the easiest way to help. All of this money will go to assist those whose lives have been turned upside down by the flood.
Donations of furniture and household items are being collected by the realtor's association.
If you know someone who needs assistance with personal need or they need help cleaning up, encourage them to call either the United Way Office in Monticello at 574-583-6544, or, call the Delphi food assistance line at 765-202-3935. These numbers can either help refer to them to where they might get assistance or they will pass names and numbers on to people who can help them.
If someone believes they are not being treated fairly by their insurance company, they should call the Indiana Department of Insurance at 1-800-622-4461 and ask to talk to a consultant.
Volunteer. Churches in the White and Carroll County areas are going to help coordinate the effort to clean out the homes as well as help with repairs when possible and as residents request help. We need:
Volunteers willing to work on Saturdays. (You wouldn't have to work every Saturday--Saturdays will just be the normal volunteer work day.)
Team Leaders willing to supervise a group of volunteers.
Inspectors to determine the needs of a home before a work team arrives.
Volunteers to help organize and communicate with those who are willing to help.
Worship Services
Our year-round worship services are Sunday mornings at 8:30 & 10:30.
During the summer, worship from your car with us on Sunday mornings at 8:30 at the Drive-in on N. Main St. in Monticello (Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend).
